Tide women capture Darius Rucker title
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Led by a 1-2 individual finish from Stephanie Meadow and Brooke Pancake, second-ranked Alabama rolled to an 11-stroke victory March 4 at the inaugural Darius Rucker Intercollegiate on Hilton Head Island, S.C. The event was shortened to 36 holes because Saturday’s second round was canceled because of storms.
The Crimson Tide finished at 3-over 571 at the par-71 Long Cove Club, with North Carolina finishing second at 14-over 582. Vanderbilt finished third at 593.
Meadow earned medalist honors with a 5-under 137, three shots ahead of Pancake and four ahead of North Carolina’s Katherine Perry.
