California’s spring season is beginning to look eerily familiar. The Golden Bears won their second title of the season Tuesday at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invite, repeating last year’s success exactly.
Cal’s victory at the Juli Inkster, played at Almaden Golf Course in San Jose, Calif., marks the second consecutive time the Golden Bears have won that title. Cal also won the Peg Barnard Invitational, played two weeks prior, each of the past two years.
Ranked No. 13 by Golfweek, Cal shot 15-over 879 to finish 13 shots ahead of fellow Pac-12 school Oregon. UC Davis was third and Washington fourth.
The Golden Bears claimed the top two individuals in medalist Joanne Lee (2-under 214) and runner-up Daniela Holmqvist (1-under 215). Cal’s Emily Childs, who was medalist at the Peg Barnard, also finished in the top 10.
