Texas-San Antonio wins again at Lady Jaguar
Texas-San Antonio won its third tournament of the season March 18 at the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate. The Roadrunners finished comfortably ahead of tournament host Augusta State.
UTSA took a one-shot lead on the Jaguars in Round 1, then steadily increased the advantage over the next two rounds to finish at 16-over 880, six shots ahead of Augusta State.
Purdue was third at 23-over 887, and Kennesaw State was fourth at 36 over.
UTSA relied heavily on Fabiola Arriaga and Shannon Jungman, both of whomtied for third at 2-over 218. The Roadrunners also won last week’s Islander Classic, and closed their fall season by winning the Alamo Invitational.
Purdue’s Paula Reto won the individual title, and sealed a 9-over 207 total with a final-round 64 that set a new tournament record. Augusta State’s Casey Kennedy was runner-up, 10 shots back.
