Megan McChrystal won the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic on March 25, becoming the first winner of the 2012 Symetra Tour season.
McChrystal posted a 5-under 216 total at Lake Region Yacht and Country Club in Winter Haven, Fla. She shot up the leaderboard with a second-round 66 that gave her the lead entering the final round. McChrystal double-bogeyed the par-4 second hole before making birdie at No. 3, but a birdie at No. 17 left her one shot ahead of runners-up Sara Maude Juneau and Nicole Smith.
McChrystal graduated from LSU in the spring after spending the majority of her senior season atop the individual college rankings and helping lead LSU to a third-place finish at the national championship.
Five players finished tied for fourth at 3-under 213, including Mi Hyang Lee, defending champion Tzu-Chi Lin, 2005 U.S. Women’s Open champion Birdie Kim, Cara Freeman and Seul-Ki Park.
