GoLo Mallet, GoLo Mid
The GoLo Mallet and GoLo Mid replace the Studio Select Kombi Mallet and Kombi Mid lines. The GoLo Mallet is available in two models: the GoLo (single bend shaft) and GoLo S (straight shaft).
Cameron has paid close attention to sound and acoustics with all the GoLo putters, as seen by the bottom sole plate with internal rubbering.
Conventional length GoLo Mallets are available in 33, 34 and 35 inches as well as 34H and 35H for added weight. The GoLo Mid has a standard length of 43 inches, with custom lengths available from 40 to 46 inches. MSRP is $349 for each model.
Larger is not always better, and the new Select GoLo 5 is about 10 percent smaller than the Select GoLo that preceded it.
Why smaller? Because designer Scotty Cameron conducted extensive research with touring professionals, the smaller look being preferred by many players. The difference between GoLo 5 and GoLo S5 can be found in the neck configurations: GoLo 5 (MSRP $349) has a singlebend shaft, while GoLo S5 has a straight, near-center shaft.
Cameron’s cherry-dot graphics give both putters a racy look.
Among 12 tour-inspired models in the Select family, the faces of these putters
are deeply milled, producing circular ridges. This, according to Cameron, softens both the sound and the feel. The Newport 2.6, MSRP $349, is a zero-offset blade with a high-toe profile. It has a slightly thicker topline.
