U.S. rounds played up 7.4% through September
Rounds played in the U.S. increased 5.2 percent in September and posted a more robust 7.4 percent gain through the first nine months of the year.
Public-access courses out-performed national statistics with a 5.8 percent gain in September and an 8.3 percent increase year-to-date, compared respectively with the same periods a year ago. By comparison, private facilities reported gains of 3.1 percent and 4.0 percent, respectively.
The National Golf Rounds Played Report is a collaborative venture involving industry research firm Golf Datatech LLC, PGA of America, National Golf Course Owners Association and National Golf Foundation. The September report includes data from 3,900 reporting courses.
