Navy has elevated women’s golf to a varsity sport, effective immediately. Nadia Ste-Marie, a former first-team All-American at Florida State, will serve as head coach. The team will wrap up its season in April at the Patriot League Championship.

Ste-Marie has been an assistant golf professional at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club since 1999. She competed professionally for 10 years, including the LPGA, and has been an LPGA Teaching & Club Professional since 2000. Ste-Marie played collegiately at both Hawaii and FSU. She won four tournaments as a Seminole and graduated with a degree in sociology in 1990.

Ste-Marie and her husband, Bill McKeon, have two sons, Kyle (12) and Noah (9) and daughter Taylor (4). They reside in Anapolis.
