Missouri wins 4th consecutive title; Long finishes 8th

Missouri’s star player, Jace Long, saw his winning streak come to an end, but his team remained undefeated. The Tigers won the Bank of Tennessee at Blackthorn for its fourth consecutive victory to start the season. Long, Missouri’s No. 1 player, finished eighth after winning his past three collegiate tournaments.
Missouri, No. 23 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, finished at 7-under 857 (285-286-286), one shot ahead of No. 31 Tennessee. The Vols shot 291 in the final round.
Memphis’ Grant Milner shot 10-under 206 (67-67-72) to win the individual title. He finished two shots ahead of Wake Forest’s Evan Beck, who fired 70-69-69. Missouri’s Emilio Cuartero was third with a 6-under 210 total (71-70-69).
Missouri, as well as Long, opened the season with victories at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate, Golfweek Conference Challenge and Patriot Intercollegiate. The Tigers’ head-to-head record this year is now 49-0-0. Long also won his site in PGA Tour Q-School’s pre-qualifying during his winning streak; Q-School’s first stage will be held later this month. Long, No. 10 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, shot 70-70-73 at Blackthorn to finish at 3-under 213, seven shots off the lead.
