Schaake (NR, 2013) commits to Iowa

Carson Schaake of Omaha, Neb., has given a verbal commitment to play college golf at Iowa. He made other unofficial visits to Oregon, Kansas, Iowa State, Wisconsin and Illinois.
Schaake attends Omaha Creighton Prep and will graduate in May.
“I chose Iowa because of the values of the coaching staff, the goals of the coaching staff and the recent rise of the program under Coach (Mark) Hankins,” Schaake said. “I felt that I could meet my goals as a golfer and as a student at Iowa.”
In 2012 he won the Class A State Championship as an individual and led the team to the team title. Schaake also won the Nebraska Junior PGA Championship. He placed fifth at the Nebraska Amateur and was third at the Nebraska Junior Amateur.
