Indiana closed its fall with a second title on Oct. 23, winning the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown by three shots.

The Hoosiers finished 54 holes at Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas with a 30-over 894 total. It left Indiana three shots ahead of Central Florida. Host UNLV was just one shot back, followed by Missouri, another shot back.

“I am really proud of the girls,” head coach Clint Wallman said. “Things looked kind of bleak with seven holes to go, but we buckled down, played strong and put ourselves in position to win.”

Indiana, No. 46 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, also won the IU Fall Kickoff to start the season. The Hoosiers finished second at their own Hoosier Fall Invitational a week before heading west to Las Vegas.

Indiana sophomore Elizabeth Tong tied for medalist honors at Stallion Mountain with Mississippi State’s Ally McDonald. Tong's final-round 4-under 68 was her low round of the season and helped her finish the event at 2-under 214. Minnesota’s Carmen Laguna and Penn State’s Christina Vosters tied for third at 3-over 219.
