Tardy (No. 14, 2015) commits to Georgia
Monday, October 29, 2012
Bailey Tardy has given a verbal commitment to play college golf for Georgia. The Norcross, Ga., native also made unofficial visits to Clemson and Ole Miss before making her decision.
Tardy calls attending Georgia a lifelong dream. When she was younger, she imagined she’d play soccer for the Bulldogs. Then, as an 11-year-old, she picked up golf.
“I would have never guessed that four years later I would have the opportunity to play golf at my dream school,” Tardy said. “I loved everything about Georgia - the new coaches, the teammates, the amazing facilities, the academics and the awesome campus. It’s close to my house, which is a big plus, and my grandmother lives in Athens. Coach (Josh) Brewer has big plans for the UGA program, and I am excited to be a part of it.”
Tardy led her high school, Greater Atlanta Christian School, to the 2012 Georgia AA State Championship as she won the individual title. She also won two AJGA titles in the past year: the Junior at River Landing and Junior All-Star Ocala.
