Sunday, September 2, 2012
Ben Skogen has given a verbal commitment to play college golf close to home at the University of Wisconsin. Skogen, who attends Onalaska (Wis.) High School in Onalaska, is the No. 2-ranked golfer in the state.
Skogen also made unofficial visits to Central Florida, Illinois, Marquette and Minnesota.
“I chose the University of Wisconsin because the new coaches, Coach (Michael) Burcin and Coach Bryant Odom, are outstanding people with high expectations,” he said. “I am looking forward to their new indoor facility, and I really like their home course, University Ridge.”
Skogen is ranked No. 98 in the Class of 2013 and has four top-15 finishes in AJGA events, plus the Wisconsin State High School Boys Division 1 title as a sophomore.
