Cheyenne Woods’ first attempt at qualifying for the LPGA tour ended early. The recent Wake Forest graduate returned a second-round 2-over 74 on Wednesday at LPGA International’s Legends course in Daytona Beach, Fla. It wasn’t enough to atone for an opening 77, and at 7-over 151, Woods is far from the top 70 and ties who will advance to the final two rounds.

Woods entered Q-School after winning her first professional event, a 54-hole SunCoast Ladies Series event at LPGA International. She also played this year’s Wegmans LPGA Championship on a sponsor exemption and qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open. She missed the cut in both events.

Now a professional, Woods will leave Q-School with “G” status on the Symetra Tour, which is the last of six non-exempt categories on the LPGA's developmental circuit. That is likely to afford Woods only a handful of starts, though there is no limit on the number of sponsor exemptions she could accept.

Other notables below the cutline include Stanford senior Sally Watson, former Florida State player Maria Salinas, who was competing as an amateur, and recent LSU graduate Tessa Teachman.
