Jutanugarn maintains LPGA Q-School lead
Moriya Jutanugarn held on to her lead Thursday during the first stage of LPGA Q-School.
Jutanugarn shot 4-under 68 to move to 13 under heading into Friday’s final round on the Champions Course at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. She leads Garrett Phillips by a stroke while Jaye Marie Green is in third at 11 under.
The top 60 and ties will move on to the second stage, which will be held Oct. 9-12 at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Plantation, Fla.
Jutanugarn, 18, made three birdies and a pair of eagles on her round. Her eagles both came on par 5s at Nos. 5 and 18. Phillips matched Jutanugarn’s 68 while Jutanugarn’s playing competitor, Green, shot 69 along with former Alabama standout Brooke Pancake, who is fourth at 9 under.
