4. Georgia Tech

2011-12 Golfweek/Sagarin rank: 8

Go-to guy: Anders Albertson

Season outlook: This is a young team, with just one senior on its roster. Sophomore Anders Albertson is the Yellow Jackets’ top returner, ranking 32nd in last year’s Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings. Freshman Shun Yat Hak, a former No. 1 in the Golfweek’s junior rankings, could be a big boost to the lineup. Richy Werenski, No. 120 in last season’s rankings, is coming off a victory at the prestigious Porter Cup.

The Yellow Jackets are trying to avenge last year’s heartbreak of missing NCAAs. They won’t want to miss this year’s national championship, which they are hosting at Capital City Club’s Crabapple Course. They’ll get plenty of practice in the Peach State. All four of their fall events are in Georgia.

The Yellow Jackets will have to cope with the loss of former first-team All-American James White, who led the team with a 71.2 scoring average last season. White is the only player among Tech’s top six scorers who isn’t returning from last season, though.
