Luke Guthrie clinched his 2013 PGA Tour card with his victory at last week’s Albertsons Boise Open on the Web.com Tour. He won’t have to wait until January for his next PGA Tour start, though.

Guthrie has accepted a sponsor exemption into the PGA Tour’s Frys.com Open on Oct. 11-14 at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, Calif., according to his agent. It will be Guthrie’s fourth PGA Tour start of the season. He earned $284,672 with a T-19 at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, T-5 at the John Deere Classic and T-18 at the True South Classic.

Guthrie has finished in the top 20 in eight of nine starts on the Web.com and PGA tours since turning pro after this year’s NCAA Championship. He ranks fourth on the Web.com Tour’s money list, with $283,463 in earnings. Guthrie has finished in the top 10 in five of six Web.com Tour starts, and in the top 3 three times: winning Boise, losing a playoff to Ben Kohles at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational and tying for third at the Cox Classic.

Guthrie is one of several up-and-comers in the Frys.com field. Patrick Cantlay, who was the world’s No. 1 amateur when he turned pro after the U.S. Open, and John Peterson, the 2011 NCAA champion who finished fourth at the U.S. Open, also have accepted sponsor exemptions into the field.
