ATLANTA – The stage is set for an epic battle from the biggest names in golf. Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can win the FedEx Cup with a victory in the Tour Championship. So can Nick Watney and Brandt Snedeker.

And then there are the likes of Lee Westwood and Louis Oosthuizen, who would need a victory this weekend at East Lake Golf Club and little help to also take home the $10 million prize.

Or could we see a repeat of 2011, when Bill Haas came out of nowhere to win the tournament and the big cash bonus? Could an Adam Scott (No. 21), Webb Simpson (No. 25) or Rickie Fowler (No. 27) pull off a shocker?

In case you missed it, here is what each player needs to have happen to win the FedEx Cup. Here is everyone who made it into the Tour Championship, with our player power rankings.

Here are Golfweek's staff picks to win the 2012 FedEx Cup title:

• • •

Phil Mickelson

JIM McCABE: Three years ago, the left-hander stormed home at East Lake, shot 66-65 on the weekend, won the Tour Championship . . . but watched arch-rival Tiger Woods capture the FedEx Cup and the $10 million bonus. This time around, Mickelson will take it all home.

• • •

Rory McIlroy

SEAN MARTIN: How do you bet against him?

• • •

Phil Mickelson

JEFF RUDE: Has his game in order, as shown in his ties for fourth and second in his last two tournaments. Swing and putting are in order, the latter largely because of a modified claw, or Paint Brush, grip. Plus, Mickelson has fared well at East Lake over the years, winning in 2000 and '09.

• • •

Phil Mickelson

ALEX MICELI: Everyone thinks it's the putter, but Lefty finally has the driver figured out, which is the key. He also has success at East Lake, even if it is a Rees Jones course.

• • •

Jason Dufner

ADAM SCHUPAK: He skipped The Barclays, the first week of the FedEx Cup playoffs. If he were to win, it would shine light again on one of the glaring loopholes in this year-long race for big bucks. Ditto goes for Sergio Garcia, who skipped the Deutsche Bank Championship, if he were to walk off with both trophies as Bill Haas did in 2011.

• • •

Tiger Woods

LANCE RINGLER: It’s time!

• • •

Tiger Woods

NICK MASUDA: I picked him in three of the four majors. Oops. But the man has won three times and played incredibly well in two of the three playoff events. And he is still Tiger Woods. And, if I am the PGA Tour, I am hoping Woods takes this title, McIlroy takes Player of the Year honors and 2013 sets up as an epic showdown between the two most exciting players in golf.
