Monday qualifier Hoffmann leads WNB
MIDLAND, Texas – Morgan Hoffmann, a former All-American at Oklahoma State who shot 9-under 62 in his Monday qualifier, leads after two rounds of the Web.com Tour's WNB Golf Classic at Midland Country Club.
Hoffmann, who won the 2009 Phil Mickelson Award as the country's top freshman, carded an 8-under 64 on Friday to enter the weekend with a three-shot lead over Jamie Lovemark and defending champion Danny Lee. He's at 12 under for the tournament, which is the fourth this season in which he's earned a spot via a Monday qualifier.
Lovemark fired a 3-under 69 while Lee was one off the course record with a 9-under 63. Craig Bowden, who shot 7-under 65, and Cameron Percy sit at 8 under.
