ERIE, Colo. – The Oregon State men held off a final-round comeback from host Colorado to capture a victory Sept. 25 at the Mark Simpson-CU Invitational.

The host Buffaloes shot 13-under 275 the final day at Colorado National Golf Club, led by Derek Fribbs' 5-under 67 and 69s from David Oraee and Beau Schoolcraft, but their comeback fell two shots shy of the Beavers.

Oregon State, which shot 6-under 282 in the final round, finished at 21-under 843, followed by Colorado (845) and Colorado State (847).

In the individual race, senior Kirby Pettitt of Colorado State posted a 8-under 64 the final day to finish at 14-under 202 and earn his first college victory by three shots over Oregon State's Brian Jung, who was joined by teammates Nick Chianello and David Fink with top-10 finishes.
