PULLMAN, Wash. – The California women lost the strong senior trio of Emily Childs, Daniela Holmqvist and Joanne Lee off last season's Pac-12 title squad, and the Golden Bears knew it would take a team effort to replace them.

That's exactly what the Golden Bears got in claiming a victory Sept. 25 at the WSU Cougar Cup. With all five golfers finishing in the top 20 individually, Cal finished at 13-over 877 to win by five shots over Gonzaga and six over host Washington State at Palouse Ridge Golf Course.

Cal was led by senior Jacqueline Williams and freshman Hannah Suh, who tied for second with Cal State Fullerton's Se Ri Lee at even-par 216, four shots back of medalist Kristen Rue of Washington State. Cal junior Nicola Roessler tied for ninth, followed by senior Joi Pentin (T-16) and sophomore Morgan Thompson (T-19).

The Golden Bears had finished fourth among five teams at the season-opening Topy Cup in Japan.
