Scott, Rose, Mickelson paired at PGA Championship
The first three 2013 major winners – Adam Scott (Masters), Justin Rose (U.S. Open) and Phil Mickelson (Open Championship) – will be paired together for the first two rounds of the PGA Championship, Aug. 8-11 at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.
They will tee off of tee No. 1 at 1:45 p.m. Thursday and off of tee No. 10 at 8:35 p.m. Friday.
Scott won his first major championship in a playoff over Angel Cabrera on the second playoff hole at Augusta National when he sank a 15-foot birdie putt on No. 10. Scott became the first Australian to win the Masters.
Rose shot a final-round even-par 70 to win the U.S. Open by two over Jason Day and Mickelson. He became the first Englishman to win a major championship since 1996 (Nick Faldo) and the first Englishman to win the U.S. Open since 1970 (Tony Jacklin).
After disappointment and heartbreak at the U.S. Open, Mickelson won his fifth major – his first Open Championship – at Muirfield. He fired a final round 5-under 66 to claim the Claret Jug. He also won the week before at the Scottish Open.
