Bo Van Pelt shot 80 in Thursday's first round at the PGA Championship, then withdrew citing a hip injury.

Van Pelt had a birdie, six bogeys (including three straight from Nos. 5-7), a double bogey and a triple bogey during his round at Oak Hill.

Coming off a T-21 finish at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational last week, the Oklahoma State product has earned $938,531 this season.

His best finish this year was T-6 at the Wells Fargo Championship. Van Pelt finished T-8 at the 2011 Masters.
