Oak Hill is widely regarded as a fantastic place to play host to golf's major championships – and judging by the mix of successes and failures among the world's top-ranked golfers, the country club in Pittsford, N.Y., is standing the test of time.

Here's how the world's best are faring this week:

• • •

Tiger Woods

Official World Golf Ranking: No. 1

Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: No. 1

Saturday's standing: T-49 after a 73

Notes: The 14-time major champion has won just two of those titles on a par-70 course. This week will not pull Woods, who has won five times this season, within three major victories of all-time leader Jack Nicklaus.

• • •

Phil Mickelson

Official World Golf Ranking: No. 2

Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: No. 5

Saturday's standing: 74th after a 78

Notes: The reigning Open Championship victor has brought his Claret Jug along for road trips since leaving Muirfield, but has not fared well during his last two tournaments. His 78 Saturday was along the lines of Woods' third-round 79 at the Memorial Tournament.

• • •

Rory McIlroy

Official World Golf Ranking: No. 3

Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: No. 15

Saturday's standing: T-8 after a 67

Notes: Is McIlroy rediscovering the form that made him this tournament's champion a year ago? Perhaps. A chip-in at 18 got him a late Sunday tee time – and a chance to distance himself from his season-long critics.

• • •

Justin Rose

Official World Golf Ranking: No. 4

Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: No. 10

Saturday's standing: T-28 at after a 77

Notes: The reigning U.S. Open champion was in contention early Saturday before double bogeys at Nos. 3 and 5 keyed a 7-over front nine that sent him far down the leaderboard.

• • •

Adam Scott

Official World Golf Ranking: No. 5

Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: No. 2

Saturday's standing: T-5 after a 72

Notes: Playing in Saturday's final group alongside second-round leader Jason Dufner, Scott was in the hunt for the lead until a double bogey at No. 16 dropped him back.

• • •

Matt Kuchar

Official World Golf Ranking: No. 6

Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: No. 6

Saturday's standing: T-12 after a 76

Notes: Like Rose, Kuchar started the day contending for the lead – then ran into trouble and slid down the leaderboard with a 4-over front nine.

• • •

Brandt Snedeker

Official World Golf Ranking: No. 7

Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: No. 11

Saturday's standing: T-38 after a 70

Notes: Snedeker's second even-par round of the week wasn't enough to offset a Friday 73; the Vanderbilt product will continue to wait for his first win in a major.

• • •

Graeme McDowell

Official World Golf Ranking: No. 8

Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: No. 71

Saturday's standing: T-35 after a 73

Notes: His form much of the season was win or miss the cut; while McDowell is playing the weekend at Oak Hill, he hasn't been a factor among the contenders.

• • •

Luke Donald

Official World Golf Ranking: No. 9

Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: No. 18

Saturday's standing: Missed cut at 5 over

Notes: Donald's second consecutive MC in a major results from eight bogeys outweighing three birdies the first two days.

• • •

Keegan Bradley

Official World Golf Ranking: No. 10

Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: No. 23

Saturday's standing: T-38 after a 72

Notes: Bradley's second straight 72 has him too far down the leaderboard to contend for a second PGA title.
