23. Texas A&M

2012-13 Golfweek rank: 21

Go-to guy: Junior Tyler Dunlap

Season outlook: The Aggies should have plenty of motivation after narrowly missing out on qualifying for match play in heartbreak fashion at the NCAA Championship this past spring when Tyler Dunlap was assessed a one-stroke penalty for slow play. Instead of qualifying in sixth place, Texas A&M was the odd man out in a four-team playoff for the final three match-play spots.

The Aggies lose Drew Evans and Cameron Peck, who combined for one victory and eight top-10 finishes last season. But Dunlap, a junior who tied for eighth individually at the NCAA Championship despite the penalty, is back along with senior Johannes Veerman, junior Greg Yates and sophomore Ben Crancer – each of whom logged at least 23 rounds a season ago. Yates and Crancer each posted two top 5s, and Veerman tied for fourth at the NCAA Tempe Regional, so the potential is there. Senior Jade Scott and freshman Andrew Lister also are in the mix for starting spots, and both qualified for the U.S. Amateur along with Dunlap and Yates.

This time, the Aggies are hoping their season won't come down to one shot.
