15. Pepperdine

2012-13 Golfweek rank: 29

Go-to girl: Senior Grace Na

Season outlook: Senior Grace Na, who finished last season at No. 9 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, has been at the crest of the Waves program for the past three years, leading the team to its 12th consecutive West Coast Conference title last season. The first-team All-American notched two individual victories last year, including the WCC Championship, and is a three-time winner of the WCC Player of the Year award.

For Pepperdine to be serious NCAA Championship contenders, however, the rest of the lineup must step up. Senior Liv Cheng, juniors Somin Lee and Alina Ching, and sophomore Marissa Chow all played in nine or more events under head coach Laurie Gibbs last season. Chow, an All-WCC selection as a freshman, was second in scoring and posted four top-10 finishes, including a runner-up at the Bruin Wave Invitational. Cheng finished strong with three top 10s, all of which came in a four-event stretch at the end of the season.

Ching and Lee combined for three top 10s, but must avoid big numbers and show more consistency. If not, freshmen Alessandra Arza and Andrea Unson could push them for playing time.
