Missing the cut in half your starts is not a formula that a lot of players would accept, yet D.A. Points has made it work in 2013. Then again, that’s what happens when you win and finish second in a short span of time.

Points has earned $1,828,800 with those two finishes (in Houston and New Orleans, respectively), but just $410,487 in the other 10 starts in which he’s made the cut.

He’s missed the cut in 12 starts.

Speaking of crazy cut numbers, Jimmy Walker started the year by making it into weekend play in each of his first 15 starts. But he’s missed the cut in five of his last six tournaments.

And Sang-Moon Bae is another. He earned $1,206,000 when he won the HP Byron Nelson in May, but in nine tournaments since he’s piled up just $103,445.

NOT BAD, ROOMIE: Not a bad little run for Keegan Bradley’s former high school teammate and current roommate, Jon Curran. The onetime Vanderbilt standout earned his third win on the NGA Pro Golf Tour last week and with $97,631 he leads the money list.

But even though he can claim a 3-0 edge in victories this season over his roommate, Bradley’s $3,136,613 trumps everything.

Nothing like big-league cash.

A CURSE? Only one 36-hole leader eventually went on to win one of the season’s major championships – Jason Dufner at the PGA. But no 54-hole leader held on to win, since Dufner had been passed by Jim Furyk in the third round up at Oak Hill.

At 54 holes, Dufner came from one back to win the PGA, as did Adam Scott at the Masters, while Justin Rose was two back at in the U.S. Open, and Phil Mickelson five back at the Open Championship.
