Stacy Lewis withdrew from the CN Canadian Women’s Open after completing a first-round 74 Thursday. Lewis cited illness, then apologized to fans and explained her decision with a pair of statements on Twitter Friday morning.
“I’m sorry to all my fans, that was the first time I have pulled out of an event. The craziness of the last few weeks finally hit me,” Lewis tweeted. Then, “Time to take care of myself!”
It’s been a busy month on the road for Lewis. She began August by winning the Ricoh Women’s British Open, and played four of five sessions last week at the Solheim Cup, compiling a 1-2-1 record for the Americans.
Lewis has competed in all 18 LPGA events so far this season.
