Talk about trying to squeeze a lot into your weekend.

Jason Dufner, being an Auburn Tiger, wants to see his alma mater's football team in its conference-championship game. But he's booked in this week's Northwestern Mutual World Challenge. So he took to Twitter and reached out to a Tiger with a different set of stripes – tournament benefactor Tiger Woods.

@JasonDufner: "Dear Mr @TigerWoods I petition the event this week to play 36 holes Thurs and Friday,so I can watch my beloved Auburn play for SEC champ thx"

After all, Auburn hadn't been expected to reach Saturday's SEC title game against Missouri, but earned a spot thanks to an improbable, last-second upset win over Alabama.

Was the drama enough to sway Woods? In a word, no.

@TigerWoods: "@JasonDufner Petition denied."

So Dufner will be tied up in Thousand Oaks, Calif., at Tiger's tourney – not at the Tigers' game. Not without another couple of quips, though:

@JasonDufner: "@TigerWoods total B.S. It was worth a try tho."

@JasonDufner: "Since @TigerWoods is not being nice, I need your bag @PGA_JohnDaly that has the TV on it for next Saturday. pic.twitter.com/JeKC2TsoYX"

Woods' response wasn't the only one, naturally.

Hunter Mahan, @HunterMahan: "@JasonDufner I second that!! The cowboys play at 9 am"

Pat Perez, @PatPerezGolf: "@JasonDufner @TigerWoods. You gotta play worse Duf during the year so you have time off like me to watch all the good stuff"

Arron Oberholser, @ArronOberholser: @JasonDufner @TigerWoods pull out. Give someone else a spot. I'll play for that last place check. Who gives a rats about football

Josh Donaldson (Oakland Athletics), @BringerOfRain20: "@JasonDufner @TigerWoods just back out and we can party in Atlanta! Jk win the tourney instead."

Yet just the fact a response came from Woods' account is noteworthy: It was just Woods' 12th tweet during the last 180 days.
