His grandfather and his uncle having passed away during the last two weeks, Boo Weekley withdrew from the Franklin Templeton Shootout in Naples, Fla.

The tour veteran from the Florida Panhandle was close to both, according to tournament director Taylor Ives, and needs to spend time with family.

Freddie Jacobsen replaced Weekley, set to partner with Retief Goosen at Tiburon Golf Club on Friday through Sunday.

Weekley has made the cut in all three of his starts this season; he won the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in May on his way, one of four top-10 finishes en route to a $2,786,662 2013 season.
