Nike introduces Lunar Clayton golf shoe for 2014

Nike Golf introduced the Lunar Clayton golf shoe on Dec. 10, which celebrates the heritage and history of golf while proving golfers with comfort, supportive fit and a shoe to wear on and off the course.

“Handmade, Italian leather shoes are the essence of premium footwear,” Nike Golf Footwear Product Line Manager Ryan Bucci says, who got the inspiration from Florence, Italy. “We saw that there was an opening in the marketplace for a high-quality, handcrafted golf shoe that we could marry with Nike technology to make it lighter, more comfortable and more wearable.”

The Nike Golf creators combined a handcrafted, waterproof leather lightweight Nike Lunarlon technology for cushion. The traditional methods of shoe making joined the upper outsole to protect from all elements.

“In the past, wearing a high-end leather golf shoe meant you had to take the time to break it in. Those shoes can be rigid and uncomfortable,” Bucci says. “The Nike Lunar Clayton is a handcrafted leather shoe that is built to last but ready to wear. We obsessed the details, from the leather upper to the contrast stitching to stability and fit.”

The shoe provides the new Internal Dynamic Fit System for a secure fit and stability in the mid-foot. A molded rubber outsole – the Integrated Traction – makes the Lunar Clayton wearable on off the course.
