Alabama, Oklahoma share Puerto Rico Classic lead

No. 5 Alabama and No. 42 Oklahoma are tied atop the leaderboard after the second round of the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, on Monday. Oklahoma’s Eduardo Castiello and Virginia Tech’s Mikey Moyers are tied for the individual lead at 7 under.
SMU is in third place after a 10-under 278 on Day 2, but trails the leaders by eight shots. Georgia sits in fourth after an 8-under 280 during the second round, and rounding out the top 5 is Georgia Tech, who is one shot back of Georgia.
Moyers made seven birdies and two bogeys en route to a 5-under 67 in the second round, adding to his first-round 68. Castiello added a 3-under 69 to his tournament total after his 68 in Round 1. Alabama’s Scott Strohmeyer is in third place at 6 under, one shot back of the leaders, after his second consecutive 69.
First-round leader Billy Kennerly, a sophomore at Clemson, struggled in the second round and fired a 5-over 77. He is T-22.
