Auburn, No. 22 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, won the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate at Magnolia Grove Crossing Golf Course in Mobile, Ala., on Tuesday for its second win of the season.

Auburn won the event by four shots over No. 12 LSU. Illinois finished third at 6-over 870. Mississippi State and Wake Forest tied for fourth at 11-over 875. The Demon Deacons shot the low team score of the tournament on Day 3 with a 6-under 282.

Auburn junior Niclas Carlsson claimed the individual title for his first collegiate victory of the year, and the third of his career. This is second consecutive event an Auburn player has won the individual title. Last week, senior Dominic Bozzelli won the Amer Ari Invitational in Hawaii.

Carlsson shot rounds of 71-71-70 (4 under) to win by two shots over Wake Forest’s Evan Beck. Teammate Michael Hebert finished in solo third at 1-under 215.
