Texas earned its second team title of the season with a 21-shot victory over Houston at the Bayou City Collegiate Championship.

Texas, ranked No. 2 by Golfweek, won the event at Redstone Golf Club in Humble, Texas in wire-to-wire form after building a a five-shot lead with its opening 3-under 285. The team shot its best round of the week, 14-under 274, and again posted the best final-round score (283) to finish at 22-under 842.

Houston was second, followed by South Carolina in solo third and Louisiana Tech in fourth.

The Bayou marks Texas’ first victory since the season-opening Carpet Capital Collegiate. Longhorn freshman Brandon Stone earned medalist honors that week, in his college debut, and won again this week in Humble.

Stone finished 54 holes at 9-under 207, three shots ahead of runner-up Julio Vegas, a Texas teammate. Another Longhorn, Toni Hakula, finished in a share of third with Baylor’s Filippo Zucchetti.
