Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy didn't exactly light up PGA National on Thursday in the opening round of the Honda Classic.

Both players fired even-par 70s and are currently T-61, six shots back of leader Camilo Villegas.

Woods had two bogeys on his first nine, while recovering with two birdies coming in. McIlroy bogeyed the par-5 18th to fall out of the red.

Villegas, who lost his PGA Tour card in December, fired his lowest round since a 63 in the first round of the Humana Challenge in January of 2012.

One shot behind Villegas are Rickie Fowler, Graham DeLaet, Robert Streb and Branden Grace.

Rory Tracker

Hole No. 18, Par 5, 604 yards

One more hole for Rory, who plays "The Bear Trap" in even par.

Hole wrap-up: Rory opts for driver and misses in the right rough. He lays up before hitting over the green and into the back rough. But unlike what he did all day, making great saves from around the green, Rory leaves his chip short and about 8 feet right. It was a tough lie, though. Rory would miss the par putt, making bogey two wrap up an even-par 70.

RORY ON THE DAY: 1 under

Elsewhere on the course: Rickie Fowler, Keegan Bradley and Lee Westwood are all playing together and they are all playing well. Through 16 holes, Fowler is 4 under, Westwood is 3 under and Bradley is 2 under.

• • •

Hole No. 17, Par 3, 190 yards

That was a big save by Rory, who almost fell victim to "The Bear Trap." He's still in it, though, so he's not out of the woods yet.

Hole wrap-up: Rory goes with 7-iron and finds a greenside bunker. He makes another great save, though, getting his second shot to about 5 feet. He saves par heading into the final hole.

RORY ON THE DAY: 1 under

Elsewhere on the course: Camilo Villegas closes his round with eagle at No. 18 to wrap up a 6-under 64 – his best round ever at PGA National – and enter the clubhouse as the solo leader at 6 under.

• • •

Hole No. 16, Par 4, 434 yards

Rory has been frustrated all day, but at 1 under, he can't be too upset.

Hole wrap-up: Rory hits 3-wood and finds the right rough. There's water all along the right side, but Rory avoids it. His second flies over the green and into some thick rough. He makes a great third shot, putting it about 2 feet past. He taps in for par.

RORY ON THE DAY: 1 under

Elsewhere on the course: Ben Kohles is now 5 under through 11 and in a tie for the lead. He's missed two straight cuts, so looking to turn things around.

• • •

Hole No. 15, Par 3, 179 yards

Rory is now in "The Bear Trap." That last birdie gives him a slight margin for error during these next three holes, but you can bet Rory still has his sights on closing that gap between him in the leaders.

Hole wrap-up: Rory hits the green, missing the hole by about 18 feet to the left. Rory's birdie putt is on a great line, breaking left-to-right, but stops just short of the hole. Rory is visibly frustrated, hitting the side of his leg multiple times.

RORY ON THE DAY: 1 under

Elsewhere on the course: Camilo Villegas, the 2010 champion, has joined Ben Kohles as the only two afternoon players at 4 under. They are both one back of the lead.

• • •

Hole No. 14, Par 4, 465 yards

That's two straight holes where Rory's gone tee-to-green in two and just missed a birdie putt. He's got one hole left until he gets to "The Bear Trap."

Hole wrap-up: Rory misses the fairway just left, avoiding a couple fairway bunkers. His approach finds the green a little less than 15 feet from the hole. He puts this one on a great line and it's in.

RORY ON THE DAY: 1 under

Elsewhere on the course: Ben Kohles makes the turn at 4 under, one shot back of the lead. He now heads to the front nine.

• • •

Hole No. 13, Par 4, 388 yards

It hasn't been a struggle for Rory so far today, but he still doesn't look completely comfortable. He looked expecially frustrated after missing that last birdie putt.

Hole wrap-up: Both fairway and green hit for Rory, but he has a 15-footer left for birdie. He misses just right and settles for par.

RORY ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: Camilo Villegas is 3 under through 15 holes thanks in part to two long birdie makes, including on just a few minutes ago at No. 15.

• • •

Hole No. 12, Par 4, 427 yards

Just as Rory was starting to find a groove off the tee, he finds the rough at No. 11. He was able to limit the damage though with two solid shots after that.

Hole wrap-up: Rory finds the right side of the fairway before sticking his approach to about 12 feet. He runs the birdie try 3 feet past, but makes the comebacker for par.

RORY ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: Alistair Presnell has withdrawn after nine holes due to an illness.

• • •

Hole No. 11, Par 4, 479 yards

Rory is starting to hit more fairways and greens. Now, he'll try to get a few putts to drop to make a run at the leaders.

Hole wrap-up: Rory misses the fairway right, but finds the very back portion of the green, carrying it over the water hazard. He lags his 50-footer to about a foot and taps in for par.

RORY ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: Ben Kohles is 3 under through seven holes. He's birdied the first two holes of "The Bear Trap" (Nos. 15-16), too.

• • •

Hole No. 10, Par 4, 525 yards

That birdie gets Rory back to even par just in time for the back nine.

Hole wrap-up: Rory finds the fairway, cutting the dogleg right. He has a 15-footer for birdie, but leaves it short. Par for Rory.

RORY ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: Seung-Yul Noh is still the only player from the afternoon groups at 3 under or better right now. He's through six holes.

• • •

Hole No. 9, Par 4, 421 yards

With one hole left on the front nine, a birdie would be huge here.

Hole wrap-up: And birdie it is, as McIlroy hits the fairway and green en route to his first birdie of the day.

RORY ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: Humana winner Brian Gay is 2 under now through seven holes.

• • •

Hole No. 8, Par 4, 455 yards

Rory can't get it going on the front nine, which is the easier of the two nines.

Hole wrap-up: Another par for Rory, who avoids the lateral water hazard in front of the green, but can't take advantage otherwise.

RORY ON THE DAY: 1 over

Elsewhere on the course: Rickie Fowler and Lee Westwood are both 2 under through seven holes.

• • •

Hole No. 7, Par 3, 226 yards

Rory needs to get that one back after his first bogey of the day. He stuck his tee shot to 10 feet at the first par 3 today.

Hole wrap-up: A par for Rory, who is still searching for a birdie today.

RORY ON THE DAY: 1 over

Elsewhere on the course: Seung-Yol Noh is 3 under through three holes thanks to an eagle at the par-5 third hole.

• • •

Hole No. 6, Par 4, 488 yards

Five straight birdies now for McIlroy, who has missed either a fairway or green in four of five holes so far.

Hole wrap-up: Rory misses another fairway right. He can't recover, as he misses the green and then bogeys the hole after missing par from less than 10 feet.

RORY ON THE DAY: 1 over

Elsewhere on the course: Lee Westwood has move to 2 under through six holes.

• • •

Hole No. 5, Par 3, 217 yards

Rory has now gotten up-and-down for par twice in four holes. Like Tiger, Rory is battling early.

Hole wrap-up: Rory finds the green, about 10 feet or so from the hole. He misses the birdie putt, though.

RORY ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: No one on the course right now is better than 2 under. James Driscoll, Daniel Summerhays, Stewart Cink and Rickie Fowler are all 2 under with golf still left to play.

• • •

Hole No. 4, Par 4, 376 yards

Three straight pars to start the round for Rory. Didn't find the fairway at all on the par-5 third, though.

Hole wrap-up: Rory finds the fairway, his second in four holes. But he misses a second green and has to get up-and-down to save par.

RORY ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: Graham DeLaet has joined Branden Grace in the lead. Like Grace, DeLaet is in the clubhouse with a 5-under 65.

• • •

Hole No. 3, Par 5, 538 yards

Rory gets the first of two par 5s here at PGA National.

Hole wrap-up: Rory misses the fairway right and has to lay up, but his second still doesn't find the fairway. After getting on in three shots, Rory misses his birdie putt and ends up with par.

RORY ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: Branden Grace has the best round of the day so far, a 5-under 65, and he's in the lead.

• • •

Hole No. 2, Par 4, 464 yards

Rory will be aiming to shoot better than 75 for the first time this year today.

Hole wrap-up: After missing the green right, Rory chips to within 5 feet and makes the par.

RORY ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: Graham DeLaet bogeys No. 16, dropping him to 4 under and into a five-way tie for the lead with Boo Weekley, Sean O'Hair, Dustin Johnson and Branden Grace.

• • •

Hole No. 1, Par 4, 365 yards

Now it's time to track Rory McIlroy. He'll be starting on No. 1.

Hole wrap-up: Rory just misses the fairway, but finds the green. He'd miss a 20-plus-foot birdie putt and he's through one hole with a par.

RORY ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: Aside from a T-16 at Pebble Beach, Sean O'Hair has missed three cuts and has withdrawn from a tournament so far in 2013. He shot 4-under 66 today and is tied for second at the moment.

Tiger Tracker

• • •

Hole No. 9, Par 4, 421 yards

One hole left for Tiger. If he can make birdie, it will be a nice finish after a 2-over start through four holes this morning.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger finds the final fairway of the round and hits the green, too. He has a long birdie attempt for a chance to shoot 1-under 69. He doesn't get it to drop and instead it's a even-par 70 – just his second round in the 70s in six rounds on the PGA Tour this season.

TIGER ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: Tiger is five shots back of the leader, Graham DeLaet, who is 5 under through 14 holes.

• • •

Hole No. 8, Par 4, 455 yards

It's been a battle, but Tiger finally has it back to even par. Let's see what he can do over these last two holes, as he's five shots back of the lead at the moment.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger obviously not too happy with the driver right now after going into hazard two holes ago. He opts for long-iron and finds the fairway. He also finds the green, but he has a long birdie look. He two-putts from 25 feet for par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: Dustin Johnson now at 4 under with one hole left, one shot back of leader Graham DeLaet.

• • •

Hole No. 7, Par 3, 226 yards

That par save has to be up there in the list of best par saves of Woods' career. It was pretty impressive. But Tiger still needs another birdie or two here in these last three holes.

Hole wrap-up: And he gets it. After finding the green off the tee, Tiger makes his second birdie of the day to get back to even.

TIGER ON THE DAY: Even

Elsewhere on the course: While Justin Rose drops back a shot, Graham DeLaet birdies No. 12 to take the solo lead at 5 under.

• • •

Hole No. 6, Par 4, 488 yards

Tiger still has a chance to get this round back to even or better, but he'll have some work to do.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger hits his drive way left and he slams his club into the ground. He didn't like that one and or good reason, it's in the hazard. Tiger rolls his pants up and takes off his shoes as he attempts to play the ball. After a big splash, Tiger's ball gets back into the fairway. Huge shot there, and an even bigger shot after Tiger is able to save par, sticking a wedge close and making the putt.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over

Elsewhere on the course: Boo Weekley is finished with a 4-under 66. Weekley started the day with bogeys on Nos. 1 and 2, but six birdies and no bogeys over his next 16 holes has Weekley one shot back of current leader Justin Rose.

• • •

Hole No. 5, Par 3, 217 yards

Tiger is finding greens today. He's missed just three. But he's not getting much to drop. He gets his third par 3 of the round now.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger hits his tee shot to about 25 feet, but misses the birdie putt. Another par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over

Elsewhere on the course: After talk of Bud Cauley's good start he's now 4 over through 16 holes. Also struggling is Jason Dufner, who is 2 over through 15.

• • •

Hole No. 4, Par 4, 376 yards

Woods wasn't putting horribly before that birdie, just couldn't get anything to drop. He finally gets one and it was a much-needed one at that.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger goes with long-iron off the tee and finds the fairway. He then hits wedge to about 12 feet. He'd miss the birdie putt, though.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over

Elsewhere on the course: Justin Rose is now your solo leader at 5 under through 12 holes. Tiger's playing competitor, Dustin Johnson, is playing well, too. Johnson is 3 under through 13.

• • •

Hole No. 3, Par 5, 538 yards

Two close calls, but still no birdies so far on the front nine – or the round for that matter – for Tiger. Of his four PGA Tour rounds so far in 2013, Woods has just one round that is not in the 60s.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger misses the fairway on another par 5 and has to lay up from the rough. His third shot is a good one, though, as Tiger sticks it to just more than 5 feet. That would set up his first birdie of the day.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over

Elsewhere on the course: Boo Weekley birdies No. 16 and is now tied for the lead at 4 under with Justin Rose and Graham DeLaet.

• • •

Hole No. 2, Par 4, 464 yards

That was the closest Tiger has come to a birdie today, as he still hasn't gotten one to drop. Remember, Tiger shot 62 here in the final round last year.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger pulls out driver and smacks it down the fairway. He hits another green, too, but he'll again have a lengthy birdie try. From a good 35 feet, Tiger just misses again, rolling it a foot past the hole. Another par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 2 over

Elsewhere on the course: Justin Rose and Graham DeLaet have joined Charles Howell III in the lead at 4 under.

• • •

Hole No. 1, Par 4, 365 yards

Tiger makes the turn at 2-over 37 – not a good start for Woods, who now gets another short par 4, where he'll likely go with fairway wood or a long-iron.

Hole wrap-up: Long-iron it is for Woods, who finds the fairway before sticking his approach to about 10 feet. It's another chance at birdie and Tiger misses again.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 2 over

Elsewhere on the course: Boo Weekley will enter "The Bear Trap" at 3 under through 14 holes. He's a shot back of leader Charles Howell III.

• • •

Hole No. 18, Par 5, 604 yards

Had Tiger not already been 2 over, he might have been pleased with three pars at "The Bear Trap." He'll get the first of two par 5s now, so he'll have a good chance to make birdie before he starts his final nine holes.

Hole wrap-up: So much for reaching the green in two. Tiger drives it right into a fairway bunker, then has to pitch out to the fairway. He finds the green in three, setting himself up with a 15-footer for birdie. But just like the last hole, he leaves his birdie try short. Another par, this one especially disappointing, for Woods.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 2 over

Elsewhere on the course: Just how much tougher is the back nine? Just three of the top 9 players right now on the leaderboard started on No. 10.

• • •

Hole No. 17, Par 3, 190 yards

Two holes down, one to go in "The Bear Trap" and a birdie here would be huge for Tiger, who is six shots back of leader Charles Howell III at the moment.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger hits the green – he's now hit all three "Bear Trap" greens today – and it's about pin-high. The birdie try misses, though, as Tiger makes another par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 2 over

Elsewhere on the course: Some big names at 1 over right now: Jason Dufner, Martin Kaymer, Charl Schwartzel and Bud Cauley.

• • •

Hole No. 16, Par 4, 434 yards

Tiger seems to be finding a rhythm on the greens now, but he still can't get a birdie putt to drop yet. He put a good roll on that last one at No. 15, but just missed. He's into "The Bear Trap" now, so it will be difficult to get a shot back here at No. 16.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger finds fairway, but leaves himself a 30-footer for birdie from the fringe. He doesn't get it to drop, leaving it short, but he makes the par to survive the second hole of "The Bear Trap."

TIGER ON THE DAY: 2 over

Elsewhere on the course: Justin Rose finished T-5 at this event last year and third in 2010. He's 2 under through six holes today.

• • •

Hole No. 15, Par 3, 179 yards

After five consecutive par 4s to start his round, Tiger now gets his first par 3 of the day – and the first of a tough three-hole stretch otherwise known as "The Bear Trap."

Hole wrap-up: A good tee shot from Tiger, who lands his mid-iron about 20 feet from the hole. There's water right, so Tiger does a good job of avoiding that after almost finding the drink off the tee at No. 14. He would miss the birdie putt, but just barely, before tapping in for par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 2 over

Elsewhere on the course: Charles Howell III is now 4 under through eight holes, two shots clear of Louis Oosthuizen, Ben Curtis and Tom Gillis.

• • •

Hole No. 14, Par 4, 465 yards

Tiger drops another shot after failing to get up-and-down from a bunker at No. 13. It doesn't get any easier for the rest of this back nine, either.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger pushes his driver right and nearly into the water. He's able to recover by finding the green. He missed the long birdie try, but a two-putt for par is a decent result considering the trouble off the tee.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 2 over

Elsewhere on the course: Sang-Moon Bae, who has made the cut in all five of the events he's played this year and finished T-8 at the Northern Trust Open, is struggling early today. He's 3 over through three holes.

• • •

Hole No. 13, Par 4, 388 yards

The fourth of five straight par 4s to start this back nine, and this one is the shortest of the five at just 388 yards. Tiger has struggled to find a rhythm early on, especially on the greens where he's missed a 6-footer for par and a 10-footer for birdie.

Hole wrap-up: After a little delay on the tee box, Tiger opts for a fairway wood and finds the fairway. But like No. 10, Tiger finds a greenside bunker with his approach before failing to get up-and-down for par. That's another disappointing bogey for Woods.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 2 over

Elsewhere on the course: The man that eliminated Tiger from Match Play last week, Charles Howell III, has now moved to 3 under through six holes. He's a shot clear of second-place Louis Oosthuizen.

• • •

Hole No. 12, Par 4, 427 yards

Tiger barely misses a birdie that would've got him back to even. Now he moves to the par-4 12th, which is nearly 100 yards shorter than the opening par-4 10th.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger hits 3-wood and finds the fairway before hitting his second straight green on the approach. A second straight birdie putt yields similar results to the first one, as Tiger misses and has to settle for par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over

Elsewhere on the course: Bud Cauley has missed 3 of 5 cuts this season, but is 1 udner through four holes today, one behind solo leader Charles Howell III, who is 2 under through four holes.

• • •

Hole No. 11, Par 4, 479 yards

Not a good start for Tiger, who ran that par save a few feet past the hole. He'll try to get it back at the tough par-4 11, the start of what will be a difficult stretch of holes on this back nine.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger finds the green in two after a solid approach that leaves him a 10-footer for birdie. He misses the putt, though, before tapping in for par. Missed opportunity.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over

Elsewhere on the course: A birdie at the par-4 12th has moved Harris English to 1 under and into a tie for the lead with Matt Every, Charles Howell III and now Nicholas Thompson, who just birdied the par-4 13th.

• • •

Hole No. 10, Par 4, 525 yards

Tiger is wearing a beige sweater and grey pants to go along with a white hat and white shoes. It's a little cool this morning with temperatures just below 60 degrees. After a rainy day on Wednesday, it's lift, clean and place today at PGA National. Woods, who will start his round on the back nine, is grouped with Dustin Johnson and Martin Kaymer.

Hole wrap-up: Tiger goes with driver off the tee and pushes it a little right. After finding a greenside bunker with his approach, Woods hits to about 6 feet from the sand. He'd miss the par putt, though, and it's an opening bogey for Tiger.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over

Elsewhere on the course: Matt Every and Charles Howell III are tied for the early lead at 1 under.
