LPGA adds the North Texas LPGA Shootout for 2013

The LPGA announced a new domestic event will be added this spring: the North Texas LPGA Shootout. The full-field, stroke-play event will be held April 25-28 at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas. Area amateur players will have a chance to earn spots into the field through a “shootout” held before the tournament. The purse will be $1.3 million.

This marks the first time the LPGA has returned to Texas since the 2009 LPGA Tour Championship was held near Houston. Stacy Lewis, Angela Stanford, Brittany Lang and Katie Futcher are among those on tour from the Lone Star State.
