They grow up so fast.

Last year, we saw the junior boys take their games to the next level – literally. China’s Tianling Guan, 14, has a date for the Masters thanks to his victory at the Asia-Pacific Amateur; Beau Hossler made his second U.S. Open appearance; and Andy Zhang made history at The Olympic Club by becoming the youngest U.S. Open participant, at 14.

Could we see similar success from golf’s young guys in 2013?

Jim Liu won the 2010 U.S. Junior Amateur and finished runner-up in that event a year ago. He will play for Stanford in the fall and said he intends to focus more on amateur events and limit his junior schedule to high-profile tournaments. He could be the next junior boy to make it through U.S. Open qualifying, too.

Other names to watch include another high school senior, Robby Shelton, who won the Junior PGA and Junior Players championships in 2012, and still has yet to sign with a college. Alabama and Auburn are his finalists.

Adam Wood, Class of 2014, is coming off a victory at the Polo Junior Golf Classic in November, and Brad Dalke, 15, who committed to Oklahoma at age 12, is one of the longest juniors around. Both could win multiple junior events in 2013.
