WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – The Kiwi Golf Firecracker Tee may be one of the ‘cool’ products, according to president Glen Bowen, being shown for the first time on Wednesday at the PGA Merchandise Show Demo Day at Orange County National.
The patented, three-pronged tee is made out of plastic and is highlighted with bright colors of blue, pink and yellow (four more colors will come out in 2013). The main reason for the new tee look is, ‘for any golfer who wants to improve on accuracy,’ said Bowen.
When the club makes impact with the ball, being on the Firecracker Tee gives the ball a more steady balance, Bowen said, while on a regular wooden tee, it can go in any direction. Bowen said when the product was tested, the accuracy was 20 percent better with the Firecracker than the five other tees tested.
The Houston-based company sees this growing into something the professionals can use in years to come.
“It’s just cool, easy and fun,” Bowen said.
