SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - It'll be loud at the Waste Management Phoenix Open this week, and our fantasy crew is focused in on one player who will speak the loudest - with his game.

While Brandt Snedeker, Jason Dufner and Rickie Fowler all get some love this week, three of our panelists believe that Nick Watney has shown enough this season to be rewarded as their pick for the week.

Watney was T-4 last week at the Farmers Insurance Open and picked up a T-13 at the Hyundai.

Our crew also believes that Charles Howell III's early play is no fluke, picking up underdog status from the bulk of the panel.

Last week, Nick Masuda rebounded from making no money the previous two weeks with picking Tiger Woods correctly at Torrey Pines, allowing him to jump out of the cellar. Lance Ringler now has the overall lead by a comfortable margin.

Here is a look at this week's picks:

Rank Winner Wild Card Last Week
Rude Brandt Snedeker

Arguably the Tour's best putter, Snedeker is coming off a T-2 at the Farmers Insurance Open and has a couple of top-10s at TPC Scottsdale.

Scott Piercy

His run of top-15 finishes ended at six consecutive when he missed the Farmers cut. But he grew up playing golf in the desert and he had a pair of top-8 finishes at Phoenix in 2009-10.

Winner: Dustin Johnson ($14,125); wild card: Charles Howell III ($146,400). 2013 total: $1,481,674

McCabe Rickie Fowler

Something about the way in which he opened with a 77 while playing opposite Tiger Woods last week, yet rallied to get into a share of sixth, is worth a round of applause. Beyond the glitz and glamour and the legion of Fowler-dressalikes, the young man has a ton of grit and talent. Plus, he's fired in the 60s in nine of his last 12 rounds at this venue.

Scott Piercy

Sitting just on the other side of our top 50 in the Sagarin, Piercy (No. 51) is an attractive pick given his past performances at TPC Scottsdale: Three times in four trips he's been within the top 15. For added measure, he has gotten off to solid start in 2013.

Winner: Charles Howell III ($146,400); wild card: John Rollins ($18,004). 2013 total: $1,133,985

Martin Nick Watney

Coming off a T-4 at Torrey Pines and was T-5 here in 2011.

Charles Howell III

Has started the season with three straight top-10s.

Winner: Brandt Snedeker ($536,800); wild card: Luke Guthrie ($61,000). 2013 total: $996,240

Ringler Nick Watney

Current form is good, not to mention good form at this event.

Charles Howell III

Sleeper entering the season, but playing like a favorite four weeks into the season.

Winner: Brandt Snedeker ($536,800); wild card: Charles Howell III ($146,400). 2013 total: $1,949,826

Miceli Nick Watney

Watney showed last week that bumpy greens will not deter him. This week Watney has good greens and his ball striking should be more than enough.

Charles Howell III

Three consecutive top-10s and outside the top 50, but Howell is getting closer.

Winner: DNP; wild card: DNP. 2013 total: $424,400

Masuda Jason Dufner

Well, I can't take Tiger Woods again, but Dufner is a solid choice nonetheless. Finished second in 2011 in the event and is a top-10 machine with eight of them in 2012.

Aaron Baddeley

He's a Scottsdale resident, has won the event and has back-to-back made cuts thus far on Tour.

Winner: Tiger Woods ($1,098,000); wild card: Charles Howell III ($146,400). 2013 total: $1,399,000
