A second-straight 66 pushed Chris Doak to the top of the Scottish Open leaderboard Friday at Castle Stuart in Inverness, with Peter Uihlein among four golfers a stroke back and Henrik Stenson among five more two back.

Doak, 35, of Glasgow, had five birdies, an eagle and a bogey during his round. He credited the presence of his coach, Bob Torrance, in giving him a boost this week.

“I just feel it has been coming all year but just maybe haven't put it all together. These two days, I've definitely put it together," he told the European Tour. “It helps Bob being here, as well. He's not at many tournaments now, so it definitely helps, makes a difference.”

Doak has reached four par-5 greens in two this week, twice making eagle. He's made six of his last seven cuts.

Uihlein's 66 was the highest score among those at 11 under, the lone blemish on his scorecard a double bogey at the par-5 No. 12 hole. Ross Fisher and J.B. Hansen shot 65, while Matthew Southgate shot 64.

Phil Mickelson is four shots back of Doak at 8 under, T-11 after a 70.

Among the notables to miss the cut: Padraig Harrington (3 under, 70-71), Ernie Els (2 under, 72-70) and Jose Maria Olazabal (3 over, 74-73).
