Janie Jackson will join the Alabama roster in the fall after transferring from Arizona. Jackson is a native of Huntsville, Ala., and was a highly recruited player from the 2012 graduating class. In her single season at Arizona, she compiled three top-10s in 11 starts.

“We are excited to have Janie as part of our program and thrilled to add another talented Alabama native to the Crimson Tide roster,” Alabama head coach Mic Potter said. “I always thought Janie was a fantastic player as I watched her grow up in the state of Alabama. She has unlimited physical potential and really hits the ball a long way. We think she can bring great things to our program and add to our winning tradition.”

As a junior golfer, Jackson was a three-time Alabama State High School champion. She has played in two LPGA events, the 2012 LPGA Mobile Bay Classic and the 2011 Navistar LPGA Classic, and made the cut in the latter.

Jackson joins the Alabama team that finished the 2012-13 season ranked No. 3 by Golfweek. Four starters return from that squad, including SEC Player of the Year Stephanie Meadow and SEC Freshman of the Year Emma Talley.

Jackson finished her freshman year ranked No. 75 by Golfweek.
