Spieth loses shot at practice round with Watson

Fresh off his first career PGA Tour victory at the John Deere Classic, Jordan Spieth saw his luck end Tuesday at Muirfield after losing a chance to play a practice round with Tom Watson.
The PGA Tour's newest member was part of some confusion in which too many players showed up expecting to play with the five-time Open Championship winner, according to USA Today golf writer Steve DiMeglio. The final spot came down to Spieth and Luke Guthrie.
So what did Watson do? He took a ball from each player and tossed the two balls simultaneously back over his head. Guthrie's ended up traveling farther, by inches, meaning Spieth would have to find another group.
Spieth played nine holes with Keegan Bradley and Jason Dufner before heading back in to get some rest, which the 19-year-old undoubtedly deserves.
