Lexi Thompson, Sycamore Hills star in USGA videos

Monday, July 22, 2013

Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Ind., has hosted the previous three Junior PGA Championships. It’s why many players in the U.S. Girls’ Junior field will be familiar with the venue at that championship this week.

For fans who aren’t so familiar with the venue, the U.S. Golf Association has created a course introduction video. It highlights several holes on the Jack Nicklaus-designed Sycamore Hills and gives viewers an idea of its best and most difficult attributes (think rolling green complexes and lots of trees).

The course tour is one of three videos created by the USGA for the U.S. Girls’ Junior this week. Two other videos feature past champions Lexi Thompson (2008 champion) and Inbee Park (2002 champion) looking back on their victories in the event.

The USGA also created a course tour for this week’s U.S. Junior, which is being played at Martis Camp Golf Club in Truckee, Calif.
