Garcia shares U.S. Am qualifier lead

University of Florida commit Jorge Garcia shares the lead with three other players after the first round of the U.S. Amateur sectional qualifier at Orange County National in Winter Garden, Fla.
Garcia, who hails from Venezuela and resides in South Florida where he attends Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage, shot 4-under 68. He enters Tuesday's final round tied for the top spot with Michele Cea of Italy, Landon Michelson of Miami and Paul Simpkins of Oviedo, Fla.
Garcia advanced to the Round of 32 at the U.S. Junior Amateur last week in Truckee, Calif., before losing 3 and 2 to Nick Heinen. He beat 2012 U.S. Open qualifier Andy Zhang in the Round of 64.
Sam Horsfield of Davenport, Fla., who made it to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Junior, shot a first-round 75. Florida State's Hank Lebioda is two shots back after an opening-round 70.
