Tiger Woods 'very comfortable' at Firestone
Tiger Woods has won seven times on Tour at Firestone Country Club.
So it's no wonder the annual stop in Akron, Ohio, is one Woods looks forward to.
"This is one of those courses that for me over the years I just have felt very comfortable on," Woods said Wednesday.
Woods hasn't won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational since 2009, but he finished T-8 last year. The tournament has more often than not served as a springboard for Woods entering the stretch run of the PGA Tour season.
"I've had times when I hadn't played well at all coming into this event and for some reason it turns it around," Woods said. "And I've had times when I'd played great and it's continued."
After a T-6 finish at the Open Championship, Woods is feeling great about his game. He also proved at Muirfield that his left elbow injury was no longer an issue after sidelining him earlier in the summer.
He's ready for "a lot of golf," starting with this week's event at Firestone and ending with the Presidents Cup with a major championship and four playoff events in between.
"It's a long haul from here," he said.
