Despite a quadruple-bogey on the par-3 11th, Shawn Stefani was able to battle back with four birdies over his final five holes to take a one-shot lead at the FedEx St. Jude Classic on Saturday.

He'll carry that one-shot advantage over Harris English into Sunday, where he is also being chased by Scott Stallings (8 under) and Phil Mickelson (7 under).

See how it all unfolded on Saturday at TPC Southwind in Memphis:

Update #33: 5:37 p.m. EDT

Harris English buries a 12-footer for birdie to move to 11 under -- ending a streak of nine consecutive pars -- but will enter the final round one behind Shawn Stefani after the latter makes his 6-footer to get into the clubhouse at 12 under.

Stefani fires a 4-under 66, while English cards a 1-under 69.

The two will play in Sunday's final pairing.

• • •

Update #33: 5:37 p.m. EDT

Scott Stallings misses an 8-footer for birdie on the 18th, but knocks in the comeback to get into the clubhouse at 8 under, currently three back of Shawn Stefani.

• • •

Update #32: 5:27 p.m. EDT

Shawn Stefani picks up his third birdie over his last four holes to take the outright lead at 11 under, recovering from a disastrous quadruple bogey on No. 11. Harris English leaves his long birdie attempt about six inches to the left of the cup for his ninth consecutive par.

• • •

Update #31: 5:11 p.m. EDT

Shawn Stefani has moved back into a tie for the lead with a 3-footer for birdie on the par-5 16th, as Harris English sees his 9-footer do a 360 and come out. The day's final pair are at 10 under, with five players within three shots of the lead.

• • •

Update #30: 5:06 p.m. EDT

Nicholas Thompson, who earned a berth in the U.S. Open at Sectionals earlier this week, birdied No. 15 and then eagled No. 16 to move to 8 under, only two off the current lead.

• • •

Update #29: 4:57 p.m. EDT

Shawn Stefani hits the water again, this time at the par-4 15th, but manages to chip in to save par and stay at 9 under, one back of Harris English, who cards his seventh consecutive par.

• • •

Update #28: 4:41 p.m. EDT

Shawn Stefani gets one back at the par-3 14th, sliding in a 10-footer to move back to 9 under, one back of Harris English, who two-putts for par.

Despite his quadruple bogey on No. 11, Stefani is 1 under on the day.

• • •

Update #27: 4:19 p.m. EDT

Harris English picks up par on No. 12, but not without an adventure. His tee ball goes well left and gets a horrible lie. He tries to muscle it toward the green, but hits the top of a grandstand, bouncing off of that and hitting a spectator, but the ball somehow lands in a greenside bunker, which English gets up-and-down from.

• • •

Update #26: 4:08 p.m. EDT

Harris English now holds a two-shot lead after Scott Stallings picks up double-bogey on No. 12 after finding the water off the tee. There are three players at 8 under and three at 7 under, including Phil Mickelson.

• • •

Update #25: 4:05 p.m. EDT

Shawn Stefani finds the water off the tee at the par-3 11th, then hits his third shot about 15 yards past the hole and into a bunker. His first bunker shot hits the rough and goes back into the sand. His fifth shot is a nice one to about 4 feet above the hole, but then pushes his putt past and picks up a quadruple bogey to fall back to 8 under.

Meanwhile, Harris English two-putts for a par to regain the lead, now one shot over Scott Stallings.

• • •

Update #24: 3:52 p.m. EDT

Shawn Stefani extends his lead to two shots with a 12-footer for birdie on No. 10 -- his fourth birdie of the day -- and remains bogey-free on the day. Harris English leaves his 16-foot birdie attempt a half-revolution short and stays at 10 under.

• • •

Update #23: 3:48 p.m. EDT

• • •

Update #21: 3:32 p.m. EDT

Phil Mickelson ended his third round with a birdie to get into the clubhouse at 7 under, posting a 5-under 65 on Saturday, tied for the best round of the day with Padraig Harrington.

• • •

Update #20: 3:29 p.m. EDT

The leaderboard is getting tighter by the moment.

Harris English fails to hit the green at the par-3 8th and left his second shot about 8 feet short of the cup. He'd miss the par putt to fall back to 10 under, now tied with Shawn Stefani for the lead after Stefani narrowly misses a birdie attempt from the fringe.

Meanwhile, Scott Stallings picks up a second consecutive birdie, the latest at the par-4 9th from about 5 feet to move to 9 under.

• • •

Update #19: 3:15 p.m. EDT

Scott Stallings nearly aces the par-3 8th, leaving himself about a foot and he knocks that in to move to 8 under, moving to within three shots of the lead.

Back on the 7th, Harris English two-putts from the fringe to save par and stay at 11 under, while Shawn Stefani gets up-and-down from a greenside bunker to remain at 10 under.

• • •

Update #18: 2:56 p.m. EDT

Phil Mickelson and Charles Howell III both birdie the par-5 16th hole to move to 6 under, moving into a tie for fifth. Both are 4 under on their respective rounds.

• • •

Update #17: 2:52 p.m. EDT

Harris English suffers his first hiccup of the round, picking up a bogey at the par-4 5th hole to drop back to 11 under, now only one clear of Shawn Stefani, who pars the hole.

Eric Meierdierks continues to ride his ace at the par-3 8th with another birdie at the par-4 10th and is now 8 under, alone in third place.

• • •

Update #16: 2:47 p.m. EDT

Charles Howell III, playing with Phil Mickelson, picks up a birdie at the par-4 15th to move even with his playing competitor at 5 under for the tournament. Both players are 3 under on their respective rounds.

• • •

Update #15: 2:27 p.m. EDT

After just missing the green at the par-3 4th hole, Harris English's birdie attempt just misses to the right, leaving himself 4 feet to save par, which he makes to stay at 12 under, two clear of Shawn Stefani.

• • •

Update #14: 2:24 p.m. EDT

Phil Mickelson is back in a share of fifth after an incredible tee ball at the par-3 14th that settles less than 2 feet from the hole. He is 4 under on his round and 6 under for the tournament. Mickelson nearly drained a 35-footer on 13, but the ball hit the right edge and kicked out hard left.

• • •

Update #13: 2:17 p.m. EDT

Eric Meierdierks aces the par-3 8th hole after picking up birdie on No. 7 and has moved to 7 under, tied with Scott Stallings in third.

Meanwhile, back on No. 3, both leader Harris English (12 under) and Shawn Stefani (10 under) birdie after incredible third shots to less than 4 feet each.

• • •

Update #12: 2:11 p.m. EDT

Scott Stallings lays up at the par-5 3rd, but his third shot hits the stick and he drains a 6-footer for birdie to move to 7 under. He also birdied the short par-4 2nd hole and is alone in third place.

• • •

Update #11: 2:08 p.m. EDT

Shawn Stefani cuts into Harris English's lead at No. 2, moving to 9 under with a birdie and is now just two back of English heading to their first par-5 of the day.

Padraig Harrington finishes off his third round with a birdie to get into the clubhouse with a 5-under 65 that leaves him at 6 under overall.

• • •

Update #10: 1:50 p.m. EDT

And just like that, Harris English has a three-shot lead over Shawn Stefani, burying a birdie putt at No. 1 to move to 11 under.

• • •

Update #9: 1:48 p.m. EDT

While Harris English will start his day with a two-shot lead, there are plenty of big names chasing him.

Dustin Johnson opened his round with birdies on Nos. 1 and 3 to move to 5 under in a seven-way tie for sixth.

• • •

Update #8: 1:41 p.m. EDT

Padraig Harrington has only two bogeys on Saturday, responding to each one with a birdie, as he just did on par-5 16th, picking up his seventh birdie of the day to move back to 6 under on the tournament.

• • •

Update #7: 1:38 p.m. EDT

Patrick Reed, who earned his 2013 PGA Tour card through Q-School, has a clean scorecard thus far today, picking up his fourth birdie at the par-3 8th to move to 6 under, tied with Roberto Castro in third.

Reed has had an up-and-down season, making nine cuts and missing eight, earning just under $350,000 on the season. He has only one top-10 finish, a T-7 at Pebble Beach.

• • •

Update #6: 1:27 p.m. EDT

Roberto Castro couldn't have asked for a much better start to his third round, picking up birdies at Nos. 2-4 to move to 6 under, now alone in third place.

Padraig Harrington (on No. 15) and Phil Mickelson (on No. 9) both have dropped back to 5 under after bogeys.

• • •

Update #5: 1:15 p.m. EDT

What an interesting card for Gary Woodland, who is in the clubhouse at 2 over for the tournament after a 1-over 71 on Saturday.

Woodland had four birdies and an eagle (flew it in from 136 yards at the par-4 6th) on the front-nine, but had two double-bogeys on the back (both on par-3s) and picked up two more bogeys on Nos. 17 and 18.

Woodland has quietly had a solid season, making his last nine cuts and 12 of 15 for the season. He has only two top-25s, both T-16 finishes (Waste Management Phoenix Open, Memorial).

• • •

Update #4: 1:05 p.m. EDT

Phil Mickelson picks up birdies at Nos. 6 and 8, moving himself to 6 under and is only four shots back.

• • •

Update #3: 12:56 p.m. EDT

Padraig Harrington continues his charge up the leaderboard with a birdie at the par-4 13th and is now 5 under on his round and 6 under on the tournament, four shots back of Harris English, who has yet to hit a golf ball on Saturday.

Harrington has a pair of top-10s this season, but has also missed four cuts in 10 PGA Tour starts. His best round of the year is a 63 at the Waste Management Open in February.

• • •

Update #2: 12:35 p.m. EDT

John Daly, who made the cut by a single shot, has moved back to dead last of those that made the cut, currently 5 over through 12 holes to drop back to 5 over for the tournament.

Daly has made only four cuts in 10 PGA Tour starts this season, with his best finish a T-50 at the Puerto Rico Open.

• • •

Update #1: 12:26 p.m. EDT

It's early in Memphis, with the final pairing of Harris English and Shawn Stefani still more than an hour from teeing off at TPC Southwind.

However, some early movement is being made, with Padraig Harrington picking up five birdies and a bogey through 11 holes to move to 5 under for the tournament, currently good enough for T-3.

Phil Mickelson is also hot early, picking up a birdie at No. 2 and an eagle at No. 3 after opening with a bogey and is now 4 under for the tournament, six shots back of English.
