Move over, Al Geiberger. Well, you'll need to move up as well.
Albeit on an improvised 2,680-yard layout, 9-year-old Zach Adams shot 58 to win the Mount Pleasant Junior Golf Open near Charleston, S.C., the Post and Courier reported.
Not everyone did so well in the two-day tournament that saw Zach's age bracket play nine holes each day – he won by 16 shots, making the accomplishment that much more noteworthy.
“It was pretty fun because I just kept on making putts and chipping it real good. The course was playing short and my putting was real good,” rising fourth-grader Zach told the Post and Courier.
Zach's previous tournament low was a 73. His father, Randy Adams, played college golf at Winthrop and his grandfather Whitey Adams build Cooper's Creek Golf Course near Lexington, S.C.
