Final scores

Maverick James Antcliff outlasted Austin Cody on June 22 to win the Rice Planters Amateur. The two went six extra holes at Snee Farm Country Club in Mount Pleasant, S.C., before Antcliff eventually won.

Antcliff, an Augusta State sophomore from Australia, began the final round one shot behind Cody, a Duke senior. Antcliff shot a final-round 66 to Cody’s 67, which left the two tied at 2-under 204.

The pair played the 18th hole five additional times before Antcliff made an 8-footer for birdie to end the playoff.

“I’ve been in a couple of playoffs, but nothing that long,” Antcliff told The Post and Courier. “I knew it eventually would end, but I didn’t think it would take that long.”

Cody didn’t make a bogey in the 24 holes he played on June 22.

“No bogeys in 24 holes,” Cody told The Post and Courier. “You can’t ask for more than that. I’m disappointed, but it was a good tournament.”

Scott Vincent, a South African who plays for Virginia Tech, was third at 205 followed by South Florida’s Chase Koepka another shot back. readers: We value your input and welcome your comments, but please be respectful in this forum.
