Auburn junior Michael Johnson shot a final-round 8-under 64 en route to a seven-shot victory at the Dogwood Invitational. His 28-under 260 total shatters the tournament record, which had been held by Andrew Buckle (23 under, in 2002).
Johnson fashioned six birdies and an eagle at Druid Hills Golf Club into a 64 that was the low round of the day.
Johnson won over Ollie Schniederjans, a junior at Georgia Tech, who shot a final-round 4-under 68. Ben Griffin, No. 14 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Junior Rankings, finished third at 16 under after opening with a tournament-record 61. Davin White, a junior at Georgia State, finished fourth place at 15 under. Wyndham Clark, a sophomore at Oklahoma State, and Sam Daley, a junior at Iowa State, tied for fifth.
