Cobra to release Masters-themed driver
Monday, May 6, 2013
With the season’s first major championship just weeks away, equipment junkies can look forward to the release of numerous Masters-themed commemoratives. One of the first came from Cobra Golf, which just announced that it will make 1,800 AMP Cell Limited Edition drivers available starting March 15.
Like the standard AMP Cell driver—which already is available in silver, red, blue and orange—this club features Cobra’s MyFly adjustment system which allows players to change the club’s loft from as little as 8.5 degree to as much as 11.5 degree. It also has a sole plate design that squares the club at address regardless of the loft setting and a face designed to compensate for mis-hits in the low-heel and high-toe areas.
The Limited Edition AMP Cell driver, which will cost $399 at select retail (click here to see a complete list), comes with a green-accented Mitsubishi Diamana Blue Board shaft, a green Lamkin R.E.L. GEN 360 grip and a green headcover.
As for the ability to wrap a drive around the corner on the 13th hole at Augusta National Golf Club, you’ll need to supply that yourself.
