A week after all but one of the top 50 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings played in the Players Championship, only 19 will tee it up this week at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.

But there are still plenty of big names to follow in Texas, including defending champion Jason Dufner, Matt Kuchar, Charl Schwartzel and Dustin Johnson.

But none of those four registers on our panel's list of favorites this week, as Jason Day and Jordan Spieth are receiving plenty of love.

Day won this event in 2010 and has shown plenty of signs that his game is back after a sluggish 2012 season. Meanwhile, Spieth has three top-10s this season and has finished as high as T-16 as an amateur in this event.

As for our panel, Lance Ringler takes the outright money lead after his pick of Kevin Streelman at the Players, leaving Nick Masuda in second for the first time since February.

Take a look at this week's picks:

Rank Winner Wild Card Last Week
Rude Jason Day

Playing well (third at Masters, T-19 Players) and apparently loves the Nelson course. He won there in 2010, was fifth in '11 and tied for ninth last year.

Jordan Spieth

Homegrown rising star contended at Nelson while in high school. Now he's matured to the point that he can win. Has three top-10 finishes this year.

Winner: Lee Westwood ($237,500); wild card: Tim Clark (MC). 2013 total: $5,814,145

McCabe Jason Day

Won here in 2010, has tossed in top 10s each of the last two years, and he's played nicely as of late. So, why not?

Marc Leishman

Nice little roll for the overlooked Aussie – three top-10s in his last three starts. Toss in a T-3 at Nelson last year, a T-12 three years ago and a T-8 in '09 and you get a sense that he's got a good feel for the place.

Winner: Luke Donald ($107,214) ; wild card: Tim Clark (MC). 2013 total: $5,292,958

Martin D.A. Points

Has finished no worse than 40th in his past four starts at the Nelson, including two top-10s. Recent winner of the Shell Houston Open and runner-up at the Zurich Classic.

Jordan Spieth

The first-year pro returns to his hometown event, where he contended twice as an amateur. He's earned nearly $700,000 in his first nine PGA Tour starts as a professional, including three top-10s.

Winner: Luke Donald ($107,214) ; wild card: Brian Harman (MC). 2013 total: $2,935,835

Ringler Jimmy Walker

Leads the PGA Tour in consecutive cuts made with 22. Has posted four top-10s and eight top-25s this year. Averaging 68.77 in final round scoring this year.

Jordan Spieth

Playing the course he has the most experience with on the PGA Tour. T-16 in 2010 and T-32 in 2011 at Las Colinas. Has posted three top-10s this year on the PGA Tour.

Winner: Phil Mickelson (MC); wild card: Kevin Streelman ($709,333). 2013 total:$7,399,797

Masuda Jason Day

He won here in 2010 and has been very competitive this season. I think he gets back in the winner's circle this week and could be a threat at the last three majors of the season.

J.J. Henry

TCU product finished T-3 here last season. He knows the course and has made 10 cuts at the Byron Nelson. Good enough for me.

Winner: Luke Donald ($107,214); wild card: Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano (MC). 2013 total: $6,890,046
